A very clean and tidy modern hotel with a great roof top. The staff were very attentive and the hotel is situated in an excellent location close to the metro allowing you to explore the whole of Buenos Aires.

wonderful people

Yes the stairs are steep but the location ,staff, location and clientele are very friendly. Santo and Javier are friendly and caring people. The breakfast is ample unless you are an over eater. The patio and terraza are very comfortable and the furniture is not worn nor ragged. They have Tango lesson on Saturday evening They are careful that you are safe. It is not fancy but as an older person I thought I was very comfortable and treated very well. If you are older and can manage stairs I couldn’t have been in a better place. One can hear tango music from the plaza nearby. I think the last reviewers had some sort of problem and they would find a problem with anything.

Not a Fan of Lugar Gay

We chose to stay at Lugar Gay based on reviews we read and the staff that we heard was so helpful with dinner, bar, tourist recommendations. I was extremely disappointed when we showed up. First of all, there is this ridiculously long, steep staircase that you must climb (with your luggage) just to get to the main floor of the B&B. I stayed in one of the air-conditioned rooms with ensuite bathroom. While it was adequate, there was always a musty smell in the room. The property is clothing optional and for such a small B&B (there are 8 rooms) there were plenty of naked men lying out on the small deck. Pictures of naked men and penis shaped artifacts were everywhere, and at times it felt more like a bathhouse and less like a bed & breakfast. If this is what you are looking for, than book a room. It wasn't my thing. The 2 decks got plenty of sun, but we found that most of the furniture on the decks was broken, or on the verge of ripping. We were disappointed with the staff as well. Not all of the staff spoke English as it said on the website, and they were not as helpful with bar/club/restaurant recommendations as we would have liked. Overall, this was not the kind of accomadations we were looking for. I would not stay there again. To be fair, there were plenty of guys staying there that loved the place. it just wasn't for me.
