Flux bar (Closed Permanently)

(24 Ratings)
Only early gay bar in Buenos Aires
Laid back, sophisticated, and with a wide array of cocktails, Flux Bar is the only early gay bar in the city. Most importantly, it's opened every night of the week, a detail that sets it apart from the rest of BA's gay nightclubs and bars.

Great Place To Start

Good place to start your night if you don't want to wait until 1-2am to get your drink on in Buenos Aires! Crowd comes and goes.....but just hang out and enjoy your cocktails. Good mix of locals and visitors. You are sure to find someone to chat with or spend the evening with.

(yawn)

It's surprising that a city as huge as BA has such few gay bars. And this place charges by the drink, rather than being open bar which seems to be very common in this city. Unfortunately, the bar itself is pretty sketchy, like being in someone's basement. No decor, not much of a crowd, and everyone sits on couches so there's no co-mingly going on here. Pretty boring overall. But you can get a gay map of BA here, so you can leave this place and go somewhere that doesn't suck.

Best Cocktails and Happy Hour Crowd

The only bar I found open for the traditional Happy Hour. Is located one level underground, with minimal dcor, but quite nice. The place has several confortable couches, and chairs to relax, and nice music, with a small outside patio for conversation, and smoking. It was the only bar I found where the actually have an extensive list of cocktail drinks, something unheard in other bars. The bartender impressed me when he prepared the best New England Ice Tea to date. I met the owner, very nice and accommodating. The crown is quite sociable, unpretentious, and enjoys giving tips to new tourists in Buenos Aires.

It's a bar!

In a city with very few bars as opposed to clubs Flux is very european. Open seven days a week from 7pm. Decent cocktails, a friendly crowd around the bar and always with an english speaker attending
